Father and Son Killed in Baton Rouge Accident

Father and son killed in baton rouge accident. It’s terrible to lose someone in a car accident. When your loved one leaves the house, you never think it’s the last time you’ll see them. It must be doubly devastating when you lose both your son and husband in the same crash. This is exactly what happened to Michael D. Pierce of Gonzales, Louisiana and his father.

Michael Pierce, a 39-year old man from Gonzales, was a boat enthusiast. He also owned North America Auto Group in Gonzales. He was driving a 458 Ferrari Italia at the time of the crash. His dad – 59-year old Michael Pierce, Sr.-was in the car at the time of the crash. The two were traveling North on US Highway – 61 at the time. They were on Airline, near Barringer Foreman Road when Pierce lost control of his Ferrari.

Pierce’s car ran off the road toward the right. It then proceeded to flip over several times. Neither father nor son were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. As a result of the impact, both men were ejected from the car. They were also both pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident was so bad, the rescue crew weren’t even able to tell who was driving at the time of the accident. The injuries were tremendous. There has been no comment by the family as of yet. Nor have the authorities determined what caused Pierce to lose control of his car.

The investigation is ongoing. The police have not indicated whether alcohol or drugs played a part in the crash.
