Doyline Man Killed in Single-Vehicle Accident

A lot of people think that single-car accidents are not as dangerous as multi-car accidents. This isn’t always the case. The state troopers who responded to the scene of a crash Thursday night can testify to that.

A 20-year old man was driving his 2014 Toyota Avalon in the Eastbound lanes of Oliver Road in Bossier Parish. He had no other passengers in the car with him at the time of the crash. For some reason, the driver lost control of his car and ran off the road. After he left the roadway, he crashed into a tree. The impact was quite severe. By the time the police arrived at the scene, the man had died from his injuries.

The victim – J-Tavion Bowman – was from Doyline, Louisiana. The police have no idea what caused the man to run off the road in the first place. The crash happened at about 5:45 pm on Thursday, July 9, 2020.

There were no apparent witnesses to the accident. Nor has there been an official cause released for the crash. The police did submit toxicology samples to the lab and will know more when they come back. Often times, in crashes like this, the police have to look to see if impairment played a factor in the accident.

Thankfully, there were no other vehicles involved in the crash. The authorities are not sure if the man was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident. Once they have more information, they will provide an update. At this time, there has not been a statement released from the victim’s family. Depending on the outcome of the investigation, they may have a potential legal claim.
